Experienced real campus life in the New York City

My Gradlife at St.John's: a fun rewarding and learning experience

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences here at St.John's University is one of the top-ranked Pharmacy Schools in USA. Pursuing Graduate school here at such a renowned university has been a great experience so far. I started my Grad School here at St.John's from August 2012 to pursue Masters in Science with Pharmacology as my major. With such efficient teachers and eminent researchers, all these years of graduate education in St. John's has contributed immensely towards my scientific intellect. I am currently pursuing research work towards my Masters degree under the mentoring of Dr. Woon-Kai Low. Dr.Low's lab specializes in Anti-cancer research and my research project focuses on testing the anticancer potential of certain novel PARP inhibitors which were obtained from the Medicinal Chemistry Lab of Dr.Tanaji Talele, here at St.John's. The extracurricular experience is so refreshing and uplifting with so many student organizations here in the campus. I served as the Vice-Chair and now currently serving as the Webmaster for the SJU student chapter for American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). Our weekly Pharmacology journal clubs and Monthly Doctoral Seminars by various scientists around the World, also lets us to keep up with the scientific research being carried outside of our university and also many speakers give us their valuable industrial insights. Also, the prime location of the Queens campus, which is located very close to Manhattan, allows us to take in the energy & vibes of the New York City, especially during the weekends and after working so hard during the week. All in all, St.John's University is a very wonderful option to those students who would like to make the most out of their graduate school life.

A decent university to have your academic goals fulfilled

The university is pretty good. It has a lot of research opportunities and funding is also available. The Queens campus is the major one and is pretty big too.

It is great learning experience

You won't find many universities in US that has its own private campus. Considering the fact that SJU is in the middle of New York City, it just makes it more attractive. NYC is known to be a cosmopolitan and so is SJU. The experienced faculty and vast resources, especially for someone like me (graduate student) is what I'd need at this point and I'm getting exactly the same at SJU.

With experienced faculty and high quality education, I have loved this school from my first day here. The modern infrastructure and the fact that it is the only school to have an actual campus makes it even more attractive. Living in the comfortness of worldly city of New York, it is all a perfect learning experience.
