BA in English and Education Studies

At the University of Chester, there is a wide variety of clubs, societies, and activities for students, catering to nearly every interest and passion. For those who enjoy sports, there are numerous options ranging from swimming, running, and kayaking to team sports like rugby, basketball, and football. You can also join unique clubs such as cheerleading and fencing, which provide exciting opportunities to engage in physical activity while meeting like-minded individuals. In addition to sports, there are plenty of social clubs available, offering students a chance to connect based on shared interests. For instance, the International Students’ Club allows international students to come together and share experiences, while the Mature Students’ Society provides a space for older students to discuss their university journey. There’s also a Movie Society for film lovers, as well as societies focused on religion, gaming, reading, and much more. Essentially, whatever your interest, there’s likely a society for it at Chester! If you can’t find a society that matches your passion, you have the freedom to create your own. The Chester Students’ Union (CSU) encourages students to take this step, offering funding and support to help you get started. This fosters an environment of creativity and involvement, allowing students to shape their university experience in ways that reflect their personal interests. One of the best things about these clubs and societies is the opportunity to attend taster sessions. This allows you to explore different activities and decide whether or not you'd like to commit to them. With so many diverse options available, joining a club or society at Chester is a great way to enrich your university life, meet new people, and try something new. Whether you're passionate about sports, arts, culture, or socializing, there's something here for everyone!
