Herts offers online internships that are guaranteed for all campus-based postgraduate taught students. Students will work on real projects with global employers, gaining practical experience alongside their degree. Online internships run for eight weeks at 15 hours per week, offering flexibility around studies, and giving access to over 250,000 fully remote opportunities across 18 career fields. Students can complete the internship from anywhere, build employer–valued skills, and graduate with a University of Hertfordshire completion certificate and recognised work experience to strengthen a CV.
Careers support is available to all students during their time at Herts and for up to four years after graduation from the dedicated careers and employment team. Students can reach out to the team for tailored advice on career planning and job seeking. In 2026, the GBP 100 million Spectra building (completed in 2024 and home to the School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science) was awarded the Southern Construction Framework Project of the Year award, acknowledging its outstanding design, innovation and sustainability. The building is fitted with state-of-the-art technologies supporting practical learning.
In 2028, the university will open its multi-million-pound, purpose-built Health building as part of the School of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.
