Over 18,000 students over 100 nations study across its two spacious UK campuses in Canterbury and Medway which are both less than one hour by train to London and close proximity to Europe.

Graduate outcomes

The University of Kent has an alumni of over 180,000 students, many of whom have gone on to achieve great things upon completing their studies. Prospective students can view just a handful of the success stories on the university’s website, so that they can understand the potential opportunities that await them in future.

While students are expected to work hard to succeed, the university also offers a number of additional services aimed at improving employability, so that they may give themselves the best chances of success. This includes various short courses and workshops aimed at improving skillsets as part of Study Plus, support researching potential career options, and mock interview scenarios to help train students before their future job applications.

Whenever students take part in co-curricular activities related to improving their employment prospects, they will earn employability points. these points can be redeemed to allow students to apply for the more competitive internships and work experience opportunities available.

What's new

Kent and Medway Medical School achieves full accreditation

Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), a partnership between Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Kent, has been granted full accreditation by the General Medical Council (GMC). As of 9 April 2025, KMMS joins the list of institutions authorised to award UK primary medical qualifications—marking a major milestone ahead of the School’s first graduating cohort summer 2025.

Kent ranks in the top 35 best universities for work experience

Kent has climbed 11 places to 33^rd in RateMyPlacement’s Best Universities for Work Experience table 2025-2026, reflecting the wide range of opportunities available to Kent students to gain real-world experience, develop key skills, and enhance their employability.

Global award for innovative learning initiative exclusive to Kent Business School graduates

Kent Business School’s innovative Alumni Summer School has been awarded ‘Best Lifelong Learning Initiative 2025’ by the Association of Master of Business Administrations (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA).

Scholarships & funding

The University of Kent offers a number of scholarships to support students through their education, including specific awards for sport, music, and those tailored to students from certain locations.

Each year the university offers dedicated scholarships for its international students. These include scholarships at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The University of Kent is pleased to offer the British Council GREAT scholarships in collaboration with the British Council, these are worth GBP 10,000 each year.

Together with The Bestway Foundation, Kent offers several scholarships to students from and domiciled in Pakistan, applying to postgraduate one year master’s programmes in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Eligibility

Entry requirements

The University of Kent welcomes students from all around the world with a range of different qualifications. Students can take a look at the university’s country webpages to check the requirements for the country that they have studied in.

Applications for full-time undergraduate courses must be made through UCAS Apply, or through Kent’s direct application route for students who have not applied via UCAS and do not intend to do so.

International students can also apply with the assistance of one of Kent's overseas representatives. Kent's dedicated international recruitment team can help students track their application and are a permanent point of contact for all student enquiries.

For postgraduate applicants

Students can apply directly online for all of Kent's postgraduate courses. International students should check for country-specific entry requirements.

University of Kent International College

At University of Kent International College, students are given the support and encouragement to build a firm foundation for future success in a diverse range of degree programmes. Students can choose to study from two undergraduate pathways: International Foundation Programme or International Year Zero. We also offer a postgraduate International Incorporated Master's.

Teaching quality

All of the academic schools at the University of Kent are known for their leading and world-class research.

The university has been confirmed as being a world-leading institution in the fields of arts and humanities, sciences, and social sciences by the Research Excellence Framework (REF) while other subject areas also benefit from exciting research projects.

For prospective students, this means the chance to join a university that is not only helping students understand the most contemporary findings related to their field, but they are actively shaping the world’s knowledge of these subjects, and in doing so helping to make a positive contribution to global society and individual lives.
