About University of Westminster

Since 1838, the University of Westminster has been welcoming students with the aim of helping them reach their full potential through a pioneering and innovative educational approach. The university has been part of many notable moments, from opening the first public photographic studio in Europe, winning the Queen’s Award for enterprise – international trade, to hosting the first public moving picture show in the UK. Recently it became the first UK partner university for UN Habitat, the agency dealing with human settlement and development.

Students at the University of Westminster enjoy the best possible learning environment, and the staff at the university constantly introduce new ways of thinking to keep their content and teaching methods up to date.

Students can choose from over 400 programmes, which include foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees.

Courses are delivered across four campuses – three in central London and one in north-west London. Being in the heart of London, the University of Westminster offers its students access to global opportunities. It has world-class facilities and continues to invest with new and exciting developments to Marylebone campus, sports facilities on Regent Street, Harrow and Chiswick, and the purpose-built Bloomberg Financial Markets Suite.

Graduate outcomes

The University of Westminster Careers and Employability Service works in partnership with hundreds of employers to give students the opportunity to develop new skills and gain real-life work experience. This includes full-time and part-time work placements, volunteering schemes, networking and careers events and graduate opportunities. Student support services can also provide advice and guidance on the graduate route and other visa options.

Following graduation, students can continue to access the Careers and Employability services, resources and support for a further three years. This includes:

• Online job listings (for 18 months after graduation)
• Presentations and workshops hosted by employers

The University of Westminster continues to invest heavily in campus and facilities refurbishments to provide vibrant and state-of-the-art campuses for its students.

The university offers modern teaching facilities, industry-standard studios, extensive libraries and study spaces, through to access to the purpose-built Financial Markets Suite that utilises the Bloomberg platform, widely adopted by leading financial institutions.

The university has undertaken a major restoration of the historic cinema at its Regent Street campus, which provides a brilliant platform for students to showcase their activities in film, TV, moving image and photography.
