Since 1838, the University of Westminster has been welcoming students with the aim of helping them reach their full potential through a pioneering and innovative educational approach. The university has been part of many notable moments, from opening the first public photographic studio in Europe, winning the Queen’s Award for enterprise – international trade, to hosting the first public moving picture show in the UK. Recently it became the first UK partner university for UN Habitat, the agency dealing with human settlement and development.

The University of Westminster Careers and Employability Service works in partnership with hundreds of employers to give students the opportunity to develop new skills and gain real-life work experience. This includes full-time and part-time work placements, volunteering schemes, networking and careers events and graduate opportunities. The University of Westminster continues to invest heavily in campus and facilities refurbishments to provide vibrant and state-of-the-art campuses for its students.
The university offers modern teaching facilities, industry-standard studios, extensive libraries and study spaces, through to access to the purpose-built Financial Markets Suite that utilises the Bloomberg platform, widely adopted by leading financial institutions.

The University of Westminster also works with organisations to give students more funding opportunities. Each scholarship has its own application process and eligibility criteria, so students need to check the website for relevant information before applying.
International students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English. The university recognises a wide range of qualifications including IELTS, Pearson PTE, Cambridge, TOEFL and Password English Skills as well as the English component in some high school qualifications.
Students applying for an undergraduate programme at the university would need to have an overall score of IELTS 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component (or equivalent). Students joining a postgraduate programme at the university would need to have an overall score of IELTS 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component (or equivalent). The University of Westminster works in partnership with Kaplan International to provide university preparation courses for international students who do not currently meet the entry requirements for bachelor's or master's degree programmes at Westminster. The university also has agreements with a number of other providers whose foundation and pre-master’s courses offer entry to Westminster degrees.

Westminster offers a variety of postgraduate and undergraduate courses through its three colleges, which are each comprised of four schools. Spread over four locations in London, students study at either The Cavendish, Regent, Marylebone or Harrow campuses depending on their chosen subject area.
This college aims to prepare students for an exciting future in a rapidly changing world by fostering creativity and giving students the skills to develop and manipulate the latest technological advances. This college includes the award-winning School of Architecture and Cities and the Westminster School of Arts offering popular courses in film, fashion, art and design. The college also offers courses in computer science, network engineering and digital media.
This college offers courses in humanities including the opportunity to study TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) either online or on-campus, Specialised Translation MA and Translation and Interpreting MA. Students will also find courses in criminology, politics, psychology and international relations. Students can study biomedical sciences in state-of-the-art laboratories. This college is also home to the Westminster School of Law, which adopts a practical approach to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, where students are encouraged to participate in real client cases at the Student Law Clinic.
