I was 17 years old when I joined CSUB (Fall 1991) as an international student from the Philippines, where the method of teaching is strict and dogmatic unlike CSUB where I experienced freedom in the way things are taught and learned. This required much discipline and perseverance on my part as a student. Discipline because any form of freedom can easily be abused and a bane unto one's self; and Perseverance to reach the standard of education imposed by CSUB -- a standard that puts in check the freedom that is allowed to the student. If I were to go through college for the second time, I would still think of going to CSUB. show less
