Scholarships & funding

Griffith University strives to support international students through a generous range of scholarships. Scholarships significantly ease the cost of study on students and help cover expenses such as living allowances and tuition fees. Scholarships are available for students at all levels –undergraduate, postgraduate, research and pathway.

Griffith’s scholarships recognise and reward students with an outstanding academic record and the potential to make the community a better place. Some of the scholarships on offer include:

Vice Chancellor's International Scholarship

This scholarship supports exceptional students applying to study undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Griffith University. The scholarship covers 50 percent of coursework tuition fees only for the duration of the program.

International Academic Merit Scholarship

This scholarship recognises international students with strong academic results applying for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs at Griffith University. The scholarship covers 20 percent of coursework tuition fees only for the duration of the eligible academic program. Students don’t need to apply for this scholarship, as upon application to study Griffith University will evaluate the student’s eligibility for this scholarship.

Facilities

Griffith University’s campuses are a thriving network of learning and innovation. The university’s four physical campuses – at Gold Coast (4222), Brisbane South (Nathan) (4111), Brisbane City (South Bank and the CBD) (4101) and Logan (4131) – and its digital campus, all have state-of-the-art facilities and services to ensure a memorable learning environment for students.

Lecture theatres

Contemporary learning spaces which vary in size, starting from 50 all the way up to 700 seats.

Griffith University has a network of libraries which offer individual and group study zones as well as academic training workshops.

Studio and labs

The university's labs as well as studios have been custom built for the students so that they can learn in an environment that is industry-standard.

Sports

World-class sporting facilities include athletics tracks, fields, gyms, pools, tennis courts and recreation halls. Griffith University is proud to be the exclusive Australian Olympic Pathway University in partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee. Together, Griffith and the AOC are working to support Australia’s elite athletes in their pursuit of academic and sporting excellence.

Griffith Mates – a diverse peer-support network of members who speak more than 30 languages, helping thousands of international students each year adjust to university life in Australia. From airport pickups to beach days, the Mates organise activities and events to help students connect, have fun and make friends!
International Student Advisors – International Student Advisors provide information and guidance to support students in managing their life and studies in Australia. The university’s team of dedicated and experienced staff can answer any questions and help guide students towards academic success.
English language support – Griffith University provides English language learning instruction for students to develop their academic English and improve overall academic performance. From dedicated courses to free one-on-one tutoring sessions, the Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) and its award-winning courses offer a range of solutions that can help students achieve their goals.
Careers and Employment Service – The university’s careers and employment service supports students in planning their career, becoming job ready and finding work while they study and after they graduate.
Health and Wellbeing – Students can see a doctor at Griffith’s health and medical services located at Gold Coast and Brisbane South (Nathan), as well as medical centres and hospitals near each campus. Free, confidential student counselling is also available across all campuses for students to talk about personal issues.
Financial Assistance – If students are having trouble with budgeting, the Welfare and Student Liaison Office offer budgeting advice, a textbook exchange service and other support services.
