Based in London, Ontario, Canada, Fanshawe College is only two hours from both Toronto and Niagara Falls, as well as Detroit across the border in the US. London itself is a beautiful location to study – dubbed the ‘Forest City’, it’s home to many parks and lakes, but it’s also a thriving hub of culture and business.
There are currently over 40,000 students at Fanshawe College, including 7,500 international students from 110 different countries. Fanshawe College offer more than 220 programs that are career oriented and, from those, we have 70+ S.T.E.M. Programs.
The Fanshawe experience delivers career-focused, quality programming through flexible pathways to support students’ individual career goals and life success. Its unique experiential learning environment sets students up for success beyond the classroom.
In total there are over 200 programs offered at degree, diploma and certificate level across the campuses of Fanshawe College. As well as the main London campus, there are others in Simcoe, Woodstock, and St. Thomas. London Campus is on oxford street campus. Situated on 100 acres of scenic land, it’s home to outstanding facilities for learning and athletic recreation.
Accommodation options include on-campus residences and private rentals, along with Homestay options. Students who are full-time at London get a bus pass included for easy transport around the city, and services at the Student Wellness Centre.
The college offers over CAD 5 million in scholarship awards for students, some of which are specifically made available to international students. Students will also be able to take advantage of co-operative learning options which incorporate paid work, so that students can ‘earn while they learn’.
Students at Fanshawe are well prepared for professional life, with many finding employment within the first six months of graduating. The Fanshawe College Alumni Association of over 200,000 graduates creates a lasting global connection for all who study at the College.
At Fanshawe College, there are more than 200 academic programs available, ranging from EAP (English for Academic Purposes) to certificates, diplomas, postgraduate programs and degrees.

Fanshawe College has credit transfer and articulation agreements with universities in Canada and around the world. Fanshawe credits can be transferred to many other institutions, such as (Western University, Kings University College), and more.
Fanshawe has more than 60 co-op programs available for students to earn while they learn.
Fanshawe’s Career Service offers students and alumni a number of programs and events to help students be successful in the search for a co-op placement and employment after graduation.
Career Fairs are held twice each year with 100 employers on campus each time, as well as skill development, mentoring, workshops and seminars. Students can meet with Career Service Consultants to discuss résumés and job opportunities. There are also many different online resources available to students.
Full-time students can work off-campus for up to 20 hours per week when attending school, and up to 40 hours per week between semesters. EAP students are not allowed to work off-campus.
Students may apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) to work in Canada for up to three years, depending on the duration of their study.
According to the most recent KPI (Key Performance Indicators) survey results, Fanshawe students excel at finding employment upon graduation. 87.6% of Fanshawe graduates are in employment shortly after graduation. Fanshawe’s graduate employment rate ranks second among all large colleges in the province of Ontario.
According to the 2018 i-graduate survey, Fanshawe ranks number one out of 199 institutions worldwide (including 6 Ontario colleges) in Student’s Overall Satisfaction with Learning.
Fanshawe College is a proud partner of the Canadian Bureau of International Education (CBIE). This means Fanshawe takes studying abroad seriously. Fanshawe College has 26 mutual exchange agreements with universities across 16 different countries in Asia, Europe and South America. Fanshawe College strongly believes that international education opportunities provide a valuable experience, not only to allow students to enjoy other cultures and explore the world, but also to help build their resume when it’s time to look for a job.
Fanshawe offers semester-long international exchange opportunities in countries all around the globe including Belgium, Brazil, Ecuador, England, Ireland, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and Wales. For students who do not want to spend the whole semester abroad, Fanshawe also offers month-long cultural exchanges to France, Finland, India and Japan.
According to recently released Key Performance Indicators (KPI) survey results, Fanshawe College graduates rank first in the province for finding employment upon graduation. Survey results indicate 90.3 per cent of Fanshawe alumni find jobs within six months of graduating, exceeding the provincial average of all Ontario colleges by more than four per cent.
With a student satisfaction rate of 77.8 per cent, the results also indicate the college is providing exceptional on campus experiences to students, exceeding the provincial average of 75.7 per cent.
"We are very proud of this year's survey results," said Fanshawe President Peter Devlin. "They are a testament to the hard work of our faculty and staff who prepare our students for careers upon graduation,” he added.
Additionally, employers who hire Fanshawe graduates are satisfied with the skills and contributions of graduates who work for them, reporting a satisfaction rate of 93.8 percent.
"While these results show Fanshawe is a leader among large colleges in Ontario, we continue to look for ways to improve our services to students and alumni and providing leading-edge programming to meet the needs of our employers," remarked Devlin.

For international applicants applying through the Study Direct Stream (SDS Program) from India, Pakistan, Morocco, Senegal, China, Vietnam or Philippines, the SDS IELTS requirements is 6.0 with no score less than 6.0 in any of the four bands. For programs listing a higher IELTS requirement, the higher score will be required.
Tuition fees and living expenses will vary depending on a student’s chosen program of study and accommodation:
*All fees are in Canadian dollars and approximate depending on the program of study. The LTC bus pass is included for full-time London campus students. Housing costs are dependent on living situation (type of accommodation), with on-site residence students having a mandatory meal plan included in fees.
