What will I learn?

The Master of Forensic Science offers students with a background in science the opportunity to obtain new skills in forensic science and apply their knowledge and skills in a forensic context.  Students will explore how chemical and biological techniques are used for forensic investigations.

Students choose one of two areas of focus, depending on their entry qualifications -
Forensic and Analytical Chemistry Minor requires a bachelor's degree in science containing a study of chemistry to at least second year level
Forensic Biology Minor requires a bachelor's degree in science containing a study of biology to at least second year level.
Graduates of this course will have completed a Masters thesis and coursework designed to address topical concerns in industry and society, preparing them for further enrolment in a research higher degree or employment in forensic-science related fields.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
