Industry collaboration through internships and undergraduate research provides you with a variety of exciting job opportunities in this rapidly growing field. This program offers eight academic semesters with three co-op semesters for up to 12 months of industry experience upon graduation. You'll be well prepared to start your career or continue your studies in graduate programs. Combine theory with practice

Balancing theory and practice, this program offers an exceptional education in mobile computing, app development, software engineering and wireless technologies. With a degree in mobile computing you'll receive preparation to become a well-rounded, job-ready graduate. Pursue a Capstone Project or a Thesis for maximum flexibility and future career options.

What you'll learn

Sheridan’s Mobile Computing degree program offers diverse courses in computer science, software engineering, mobile development and wireless networking. You’ll cover fundamental areas of computer science such as operating systems and computer architecture as well as advanced topics like artificial intelligence and theory of computation.

You’ll also learn to develop programs in many programming languages like C#, C++, Java, Swift, Python, Java

Script and others using industry-grade frameworks and tools.

You’ll take dedicated courses in software design and software engineering that inform the software development process. Specialized courses in mobile computing and wireless networking make this program unique, and ensure that you’ll be able to create advanced mobile applications that leverage cognitive computing, the cloud and the Internet of Things.

Entry requirements

For international students

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:

English, Grade 12 (ENG4U)

Mathematics, Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U or equivalent) or Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U or equivalent) plus

Four other Grade 12 subjects at the U or M level*

Minimum 65% overall average

*Recommended: Grade 12 Computer Science (ICS4U) or Grade 12 Computer Engineering Technology (U or M) or

Two semesters of postsecondary education including required courses with a minimum 65% overall average

TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TOEFL iBT Home Edition (DI Code: 9117) - overall score 88 with no individual section below 21

iTEP Academic - overall score 3.9

PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 57

Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 115 with no individual subscore lower than 95

Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 176 with no individual score below 169

CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 70 with no individual section below 60

Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.5 Reading Combined Band - 4.5 Writing - CLB 8

Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 75% in listening and speaking and 75% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.
