What will I learn?

The Master of Human Rights (MHR) is an interdisciplinary program training students practically and academically for careers in human rights. The program works in collaboration with multiple UM faculties including Arts, Education, Social Work, and Law. The University of Manitoba Master of Human Roghts (MHIR) Program, is the first graduate degree program in human rights in Canada As one of the Faculty of Law's signature graduate degree programa, the University of Manitoba Master of Human Rights degree works in collaboration with the Faculties of Arts, Education, and Social Work, alongside crucial centres such as the Centre for Human Rights Research, the Mauro Centre for Peace and Justice, and the National Centre for Truth and Reconcilation, Launched in September 2019, this interdisciplinary program equips students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to become skiled professionals and leaders capable of critically engaging with, applying, and contributing mesningfuly to the resclution of complex human richts challenges across sectors at local, national, and clobal levels. it offers both practicum and thesis streame.

The following are minimum requirements to be considered for entry into the Master of Human Rights program.To be considered for admission to the Master of Human Rights program, you must haveA four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credit hours of study.One undergraduate-level course in human rights or equivalent field experience is preferred.Applicants who expect to complete their undergraduate degree before September may be conditionally accepted into the program.
