The M.Sc. in Engineering is designed to provide graduate engineers with specialist understanding in one of the following areas:Environmental Engineering.Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.Transport Engineering.Sustainable Energy Engineering. This is a one year full-time or two years part-time, NFQ Level-9 postgraduate course.Students pursuing the course full time take three core modules and four elective or common modules (including at least two from their selected specialisation) in the first semester. In the second semester, students take one core module and four elective or common modules (including at least two from their selected specialisation).Students may also take the course part-time over two years. In this case, during the first year, students take eight modules, which include three core modules and five elective or common modules (including at least two from their chosen specialisation). During the second year, students take 1 core module and 3 elective or common modules (including at least two from their chosen specialisation).

Entry requirements
For international students
The minimum entry criteria is an upper second-class Honours degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering or related degree. Relevant industrial experience may be taken into account in allocating places, where the course is oversubscribed.
