What will I learn?

The finance major provides a broad understanding of the structure and operations of financial markets. You’ll learn how to evaluate investments, make decisions on funding activities, and manage the disbursement of profits. The program positions you well to sit for the highly regarded CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exams, as it incorporates at least 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge into its curriculum. Double majoring in finance and marketing is advantageous if you also have interest in learning the strategy to promote a product or service. Marketers blend advertising, promotions, digital and social media marketing, public relations, retailing and sales strategies to promote an organisation’s brand, products and services. Your study units often feature real life clients where you’ll develop strategies to solve real business problems and present your ideas directly to management representatives.
