What will I learn?

This course will help you learn about a wide range of cookery techniques and disciplines, and gain confidence working in a commercial kitchen environment.Youll learn through hands-on experience and spend 80% of your time in the kitchen putting your skills into practice. Youll have fun and learn how to prepare all kinds of tasty dishes from delicious sauces and soups through to meat and fresh seafood.This course is delivered by The Culinary Collective, New Zealand's culinary school which is part of NZMA.You will learn:Youll learn how to cook a range of complex dishes and presentation techniquesLearn useful communication skills with customers, colleagues, and managersLearn about food safety and commercial kitchen practicesGain a Food Safety CertificateLearn correct procedures to safely handle knivesEnjoy a foodie field trip for our campus and blended learning classesGet an opportunity to secure an internship to gain invaluable industry experience

Entry requirements

For international students

Students need to be 18 or older.

You must have completed the Certificate in Cookery (Level 3).

Applicants without formal qualification must meet the minimum requirements of the NZMA placement assessment.

If English is your second language youll need an IELTS score of at least 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0, or the equivalent
