Employers are looking for skilled and adaptable students who can keep up with technological developments.Start studying towards a career in accounting starting with the first step towards becoming a chartered accountant.You'll gain practical skills using real-life situations for processing financial transactions, applying accounting concepts to financial statements and reports, preparing budgets and monitoring business performance, financial decision making, application of tax rules to small business and individuals, evaluating and determining financial risk and act in accordance with the accounting profession’s Code of EthicsThe New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5) (Accounting), is also the first year of the CAANZ and CPA approved Bachelor of Accounting at Toi Ohomai. Once you have completed the Diploma in Business, you can pathway straight into the second year of the Bachelor of Accounting. Graduate from this and gain your certification to be a Chartered Accountant. This course is offered through a combination of on-campus tutorials, online activities and self-directed learning. Upon successfully completing the requirements you'll receive the award of: New Zealand Diploma in Business (Accounting) (Level 5).

Entry requirements

For international students

To be admitted to this course, applicants must meet the following requirements: Be at least 16 years of age on the date the course starts, AND Have NCEA Level 2 including 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or above or equivalent, OR Successful completion of an approved qualification at Level 3 or above with a relevant pathway.
