What will I learn?

Computing skills can open many doors. With the right expertise, you could find yourself in many different careers, from technology to finance, engineering and healthcare. This flexible MSc gives you control over your next steps, with a range of optional modules that allow you to broaden your knowledge or specialise in a chosen area. It is designed for computing science graduates or professionals looking to enhance their expertise, and embrace new and exciting career opportunities. You’ll begin by developing your abilities in Java or Python, getting to grips with more advanced programming concepts. You can then choose from a variety of subjects, from quantum computing to machine learning, data mining, creative AI, cognitive robotics and ethical hacking. Each module is taught by experienced educators and guest lecturers, and informed by our active research in fields such as AI, cyber security and programming languages. You’ll be able to apply what you’ve learned in a variety of different hands-on assessments, from solo and group projects, lab-based experiments, and real-world challenges set by industry. Learn the latest advancements in these exciting fields, and add workplace experience with a paid placement with one of our industry partners. This course will help you elevate your skills, build research and project experience and prepare you for a career of your choice.

A first or second class honours degree or equivalent in computing or a related subject. All applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, professional qualifications and relevant experience may also be taken into account when considering applications.
