What will I learn?

This highly technical three-year BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree will enable you to gain strong theoretical and practical skills in electrical and electronic engineering. This programme has been specifically designed to allow you to develop the knowledge and application required for a wide range of high quality professional engineering careers in business, engineering, research and development, and industry. During your third year you will get the opportunity to design, simulate, build or test an electrical or electronic system as part of your individual project and will collaborate with an academic working at the cutting edge of research. We have an unrivalled reputation for our facilities, and have recently invested £8m in our teaching labs. We also have a £100m state-of-the-art interdisciplinary clean room complex and high-voltage laboratory. You’ll be prepared by renowned teaching staff to work in a wide variety of areas and fields we have strong relationships with employers, and our graduates are in demand for their understanding of organisations and their practical abilities in the workplace. You’ll benefit from our own Careers Hub who run an annual careers fair and our dedicated startup incubator, Future Worlds, supporting student enterprise. Our BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering degrees are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and we are members of the UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UK-ESF) and IET Power Academy.

Entry requirements

For international students

AAA including mathematics and either physics, further mathematics, electronics or computer science

International Baccalaureate Diploma

Pass, with 36 points overall with 18 points required at Higher Level including 6 at Higher Level in Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches) or 7 at Higher Level in Mathematics (Applications and Interpretation), and 6 at Higher Level in either Physics or Computer Science.
