Robotics - MEng (Hons): Fees & Entry Requirements at University of Southampton, UK

Robotics - MEng (Hons)

UK

What will I learn?

**Summary** \Robotics engineering is shaping how the world moves, works and interacts. From autonomous vehicles to intelligent machines in healthcare and industry, robotics combines engineering and artificial intelligence to solve complex, real-world problems. On this integrated master’s, you will develop advanced knowledge of robotics and autonomous systems. You will explore how mechanical engineering, electronics, computing and AI come together to design systems that can sense, decide and act in dynamic environments. You will learn through hands-on projects, simulations and work with real robotic platforms, building systems that perform beyond the lab. As you progress, you will move from core engineering and computing principles to specialist topics in robotics, control and machine learning. In your final year, you will take advanced modules and work on a master’s-level group design project, tackling industry-informed challenges and applying your knowledge to complex engineering problems. \**Key features of the course** \Develop advanced expertise. Build on core engineering principles to specialise in robotics, control systems and machine learning. Learn through application. Design, build and programme intelligent systems through practical projects and real-world challenges. Shape your degree. Choose optional modules to deepen your knowledge in areas such as intelligent robotics, automation and system design. Work at master’s level. Complete a group design project that reflects industry challenges and develops your teamwork and leadership skills. Access specialist facilities. Use advanced robotics platforms, embedded sensing systems and simulation tools to design and test autonomous systems. Gain real-world experience. Take an optional Industrial Placement Year to build professional skills and industry experience. \**Student support** \Your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) will guide you throughout your degree, supporting your academic progress and helping you plan your future career. You will learn as part of a community focused on innovation, working alongside students and staff developing the next generation of intelligent systems. \**Further information** \You will work on advanced, project-based learning across your degree, developing systems such as autonomous robots, machine learning models and control algorithms, sometimes in collaboration with industry. Graduates are well prepared for specialist roles in robotics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence and advanced engineering sectors.
