What will I learn?

International Studies (ITS) is an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the world. Courses draw upon economics, anthropology, geography, history, and political science. As an ITS student, you’ll learn a foreign language, study abroad, and discuss contemporary issues from a variety of perspectives. The major includes an interdisciplinary core of study in world politics, international economics, world history, political geography, intercultural relations (anthropology), and foreign language. This broad-based, interdisciplinary major helps you to understand and analyze important issues within an international and multicultural context. Many other universities specialize in one region of the world, but Miami's program is broad-based, giving you an overall world view. This interdisciplinary program is for students desiring a broad foundation for understanding and analyzing important issues within an international and multicultural context. Basic requirements for admission as an international student to a bachelor's degree program include the following: Completion of formal secondary education in a pre-university curriculum.
