What will I learn?

International Master’s program (IM) helps you earn your master’s degree with added support for essential English language and academic skills needed for graduate study. Admission through the IM program does not require a GRE test score. During your IM program, earn grades of B or higher and join your master’s program. You’ll take all the credits you earned in IM with you toward your master’s degree at WSU. Through IM, you can expect: Pre-enrollment in classes before arrival, Face-to-face instruction on the WSU Pullman campus in small graduate classes that count toward your degree, English language support designed just for graduate study to help you write effectively, cite sources, and speak with confidence, Personalized academic, social, and cultural advising and support, An assigned peer mentor to help you make friends, build community, and adjust to being a graduate student at WSU.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students wanting to enroll through the IM program need:

  • A completed WSU application
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant subject
  • U.S. equivalent of B grade or higher
  • Some graduate degree programs require prerequisite coursework and additional materials
  • University/college transcripts
  • Passport

1 Semester Track:

  • TOEFL iBT: 65
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • PTEA: 47
  • Duolingo: 95
  • ITEP: 3.5

2 Semester Track:

  • TOEFL iBT: 55
  • IELTS: 6.0
  • PTEA: 44
  • Duolingo: 90
  • ITEP: 3.0
