What will I learn?

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) offers an interdisciplinary certificate for students who want to learn about the cultures and societies of our neighbors to the south, as well as for those who are considering a career with involvement in the Latin American and Caribbean area. The program welcomes graduate students from a wide range of programs across the University. You will select courses related to Latin America and the Caribbean from offerings in Business, Economics, Education, Government and Politics, Languages and Literatures, History, Law, Management, Marketing, Psychology, Theology, and other disciplines.

Students should have baccalaureate degree from accredited college or university.

Language Requirements

Applicants whose native language is not English and who have not attended a postsecondary institution in which English is the language of instruction must provide TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores for admission.

Applicants who have taken the SAT can have the TOEFL/IELTS requirement waived

Applicants who have attended an American high school abroad or an American university can have the TOEFL/IELTS requirement waived
