What will I learn?

If you are an intellectually curious student with interests that span various fields of inquiry, the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Liberal Studies at St. John’s offers you the opportunity to pursue multidisciplinary graduate education. The program features four tracks: Humanities Social Science Cultural Studies (with an optional concentration in Women's and Gender Studies) Interdisciplinary Research In any track you choose according to your individual interests and goals, you will prepare for a wide range of career opportunities. You may also prepare for further doctoral study if you choose that path.

Entry requirements

For international students

All applicants must possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution or the international equivalent prior to enrollment at the graduate level. In addition to the application form and non-refundable application fee, candidates should submit the following: Statement of professional goals and resume Official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools attended. Two (2) letters of recommendation obtained from professional and/or academic references. Students with international credits must also submit a course-by-course foreign credit evaluation with GPA calculation from a NACES member.
