Popular degree courses in USA

Why does one study a specific course in college or University? Is it because we love the subject? Or the course guarantees a good job with a decent salary package? Perhaps a combination of these factors! When the IT boom happened; every high-school student decided to pursue an engineering course in Information Technology or Computer Science. This resulted in a generation of engineers who lacked communication and English language skills.

Trends have changed now; students are focussed on finding a course that will help them land a good job. Most preferred postgraduate degrees guaranteeing a great job are - Information Systems, Entrepreneurial studies, Statistics, Nursing, Multimedia.

Employers look for students who are flexible in their approach to work, have great communication skills and subject expertise. Students with an additional degree in business and management studies are preferred by employers. MBA holders can earn up to US$56800 a year. An accounting postgraduate can earn up to US$49100 a year. Hiring trends show that companies are increasingly hiring students’ on-campus and offering job-internships as well.
