Avionics is the electronics used in aviation. As part of the course, you will also learn about the maintenance, service and repair works for avionics. You will develop a thorough knowledge of aircraft to equip you to evaluate, inspect, conduct general maintenance, assembly, and repair of any type of aircraft. A crucial aspect of reaching this stage of proficiency will be your skill in interpreting written instructions, schematics, and specifications of these different types of aircraft. Both theory and practical training are equally important.

Fanshawe College in Canada offers this aviation course as a full-time, 3-year course with a tuition fee of around CAD 22,000 (INR 13 Lakhs, approximately) per year. 

If you opt for the IELTS test to prove your English language proficiency, make sure you score a minimum of 6.0 with no individual band less than 5.5.

Canadore College offers Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Aviation Maintenance and Avionics. This aviation program offered by the School of Aviation is a full-time, 3-years course, with a tuition fee of around CAD 15,700 (Around 9.5 lakh rupees) per year. 

The expected IELTS score is an overall score of 5.5 with a score no less than 5.0 in the individual sections.

Diploma in Aviation Technician – Avionics Maintenance

Another important and preferred aviation course is the Diploma in Aviation Technician – Avionics Maintenance course. The course is approved by Transport Canada, a department of the Government of Canada. Completing this course will prepare you to be the aircraft technician, who can install, repair, service and perform maintenance activities of the electrical and electronic components of aircraft. You will be trained by skilled professionals. If you are interested in applying for this aviation course, you should check out the following institutions:

Fanshawe College: Fanshawe is one of the several Canadian institutions that offer aviation courses. Their Diploma in Aviation Technician – Avionics Maintenance is a full-time, 64 weeks course. The tuition fee is around CAD 21,880 (Approximately 13.2 lakh rupees) per year.

If you achieve 70% in each of your theory and practical courses, you will be eligible for a Transport Canada Accredited Diploma. If you maintain a GPA of 2.0 and also meet other requirements, you will be eligible for co-op. Co-op is a program that allows you to combine your course studies with a paid work term.

The IELTS eligibility requirement is that you should score an overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5.

Centennial College: The School of Transportation department of Centennial offers this aviation course as a full-time, 2-year course. The tuition fee is around CAD 19,208 (Approximately 11.5 lakh rupees) per year.

Bombardier, a leading jet manufacturing company in Canada, had named Centennial as its trainer of choice. Centennial also receives guest speakers and panellists whose knowledge and expertise can immensely benefit students.

If you plan to apply to Centennial College for this diploma course, you should be above 19 years of age. The IELTS requirement is that the applicants should score an overall score of 6.0 with no individual band less than 5.5.

Canadore College: The School of Aviation at Canadore College offers the aviation course ‘Ontario College Diploma in Aviation Technician – Avionics Management’. The tuition fee for the program is around CAD 15,680 (Approximately 9.3 lakh rupees) per year.

Indian students should have an overall score of 5.5 in IELTS to be eligible to apply.

Diploma in Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance

Diploma in Aviation Technology – Aircraft Management is all about developing the skills needed for aircraft maintenance – whether it is helicopters or other aircraft with fixed wings. Installing aircraft parts, fabrication, diagnosing problems, wear and tear analysis are all part of the responsibilities of an aviation technician involved in aircraft maintenance. Canadore College: The diploma program is offered by the School of Aviation. It is a full-time, 2-year course with a tuition fee o around CAD 15,680 (Approximately 9.3 lakh rupees) per year. The expected IELTS score is 5.5, overall.

Fanshawe College: Fanshawe offers co-op opportunities along with the Diploma in Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance course. The tuition fee is around CAD 21,881 (Approximately 13.1 lakhs) per year. An overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 is expected from Indian applicants.

This course offered by Fanshawe College is a full-time, 90 weeks course that will cost you around 13 lakh rupee per year. The course also focuses on safety management systems, flight operations and logistics while also getting you a pilot license.

Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Aviation Technology – Aircraft Maintenance and Structures

This course is offered by Canadore College. It is a full-time, 3-year course wherein you will learn about damage inspection, repair techniques, fitting and assembly of the structural elements of the aircraft. The tuition fee is around 10 lakh rupee per year. Applicants should get an overall score of 5.5 in IELTS before applying for this advanced diploma course.

Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance – Aviation Technician

The course offered by Centennial College is a full-time, 2-years course. You will learn to troubleshoot aircraft components and systems as part of this course. The tuition fee is around 11.5 lakh rupees per year. Applicants from India should score a minimum of 6.0 in IELTS with no band less than 5.5 to apply for the Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance – Aviation Technician course.
