University of Hong Kong

Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Hong Kong Polytechnic University is ranked as the fourth best university in Hong Kong. This ranking is mainly based on the quality of research and production of great personalities in academic, scientific and management. The main schools in the university include Engineering, Humanities, Health & Human Sciences, Hotel & Tourism Management, Professional & Continuing Education, Business, Construction & Environment and Applied Sciences. 

City University of Hong Kong 

City University of Hong Kong is a public research university located in New Kowloon City. The university was accredited in 1994 and offers over 130 bachelor degrees. It has six schools including Engineering, Business, Social Sciences, Liberal Arts, Creative Media, Energy & Environment, Law, and Sciences & Engineering. It is ranked 95th globally, 18th in Asia and 5th in Hong Kong. The high ranking is mainly because of excellent research facilities and its effectiveness in devising solutions to counter many problems in Asia and beyond.

Hong Kong Baptist University 

This is a public tertiary institution established in 1956 and recognized for its production of great personalities. It is ranked sixth because of its special ability to nurture new graduates who hold an international perspective in their focus. It is from this focus that China's current development is believed to be based on. The institution has five campuses and nine faculties. These include schools of business, communication, continuing education, Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Visual Arts, Chinese Medicine and the Graduate School. 

Hong Kong Institute of Education 

This is a Public University established in 1994 and located in Tai Po. It is one of the main eight universities that fall under the University's Committee of Hong Kong. The institute has four main faculties that include Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Education & Human Development, Humanities and Graduate School. It is ranked seventh in Hong Kong because of ability to nurture great learners to focus on addressing national and regional issues. It also has great facilities for sports and students are assured of achieving the best results. 

Lingnan University 

Lingnan University is located in Tuen Mun and is one of the eight universities that are funded by the government. It was granted full university status in 1999 and is ranked eighth in Hong Kong. Its popularity mainly stems from a focus on developing students and offering numerous courses in liberal arts. All courses are offered in three main faculties of Art, Business and Social Sciences. 

The Open University of Hong Kong 

This university provides an alternative model from conventional methods. It was granted full university status in 1999 and accepts both public and self funded learners. It has campuses in Kowloon, Homantin and 30 Good Shepherd Street. It is ranked ninth and is also affiliated to ICDE and AAOU. The popularity of this institution comes from its ability to offer learning for students from far regions even outside Hong Kong. Many people like it for its flexibile learning programs. 

Hong Kong Shue Yan University 

This university was founded in 1971 and is located in Braema Hill, Hong Kong Island. It has four main faculties. They include Commerce, Arts, Social Sciences and Partnerships. It is ranked tenth and is popular for offering learners an international experience in their studies. It has produced luminaries in many fields.
