Is IELTS Mandatory to Study Abroad?

According to Gigeo of IMTP Consultancy it is not mandatory for students to give an IELTS exam if they have completed their education from a good English medium school and have scored above 75%.
He feels that a lot of Indian students are scared of examinations even though they are capable. The good news for such students is that many universities in the UK exempt students from writing the test if they have a good score in English. This varies from university to university. He feels that studying abroad without IELTS is possible but IELTS makes it a lot easier
The IELTS test mainly covers reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. He suggests students write the test as it will be very simple and easy.
It is important to consult a university before taking the decision as this varies for each university.
