What is the right time to start study abroad application process?

The preparation time for admissions to a foreign university varies from country to country.

Therefore it is important to know the various preparation steps and procedures. Every country has its own time duration when it comes to application procedures says Mr. Gigeo of IMTP.

Students who plan to go abroad should start preparing well ahead. 

Students looking forward to study in the United States have to write GRE AND GMAT exams. Therefore they have to start working a year ahead.In countries like Australia even if one puts an application as early as three to four months ahead is perfectly fine as long as one is able to write the IELTS and TOEFL.

While applying to universities in countries like Singapore, a preparation for about two months might help the candidate to get through.But from his personal view an ideal time for applying would be a minimum of six months to one year which means if one decides to join a course that starts in September 2014 he/ she should begin their preparation right from September 2013.

There are some countries that accept admissions just before the starting of the course. In such cases, students should remember that they might lose out on the best universities, courses and also scholarships. Hence applying on time becomes very crucial.

Therefore it can be noted that when applying for countries like the United States, Canada, Germany and Netherlands it is necessary to prepare well ahead while countries like Singapore, Dubai and Australia requires only a six-month preparation.
