What should you keep in mind about the rankings list?
- If you have been following the world university rankings closely, you’ll know that the top spots are consistently held by a few elite institutions. Not every institution can claim a top-10 position. But this does not diminish the quality of education offered by the others. In fact, many of these universities excel in specialised programmes or student experience.
- The top-ranking institutions might not be the best ones for ALL the subjects or assessment criteria. Look for universities that rank the highest for your preferred subject.
- The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 assign points to institutions based on certain criteria or performance indicators. Look for universities that scored the maximum points in aspects that matter the most to you. For example, you might want to study at an institution that has a large proportion of international students.
- Finally, and obviously, rankings shouldn’t be the only deciding factor in choosing your university.
