The in-house data released by the Times Higher Education reveals the young and vibrant universities in the United Kingdom, and the ranking is based on the top 100 that are aged 50 or younger, which stand apart on various aspects from other universities. The ranking criteria include teaching methods, the faculty of academics, fast-paced thinking and development in research, ability to adopt and adapt with changes and outstanding student communities at these university premises.
We give you the list of those young yet outstanding universities, among the top 100, in the UK:
1. University of Dundee – the University of Dundee leads the crowd, standing on 16th place. The University has 24% of international students at its campuses, and it’s one of the pioneer institutes in the country. For the second year in a row, the University has been ranked as the best young higher education institutions in the world. And the University has good academic and employability record.
2. University of Bath – second-most young university in the UK, which is home to 25% of international students, the University of Bath is at par in delivering quality education to its students. The University ranks 5th by the Guardian 2017 for graduate employment record and ranks 7th for graduate prospects and 11th out of 127 by the Complete University Guide 2017.
Bath, home to the famous writer Jane Austen has a wealth of beauty to offer you. Research activities at Bath are quite extensive and novel, giving its students hands-on experiences.
3. University of Surrey – the University of Surrey is home to 16% of international students. The University ranks 4th in the Guardian University Guide 2017, 5th in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2017 and 11th in the Complete University Guide 2017. According to the University League Tables 2017, students are 92.3% satisfied with Surrey’s teachings.
4. University of Stirling – home to 23% of international students from over 100 countries, the University of Stirling has been a pioneer in delivering outstanding education. The University has a number of programmes on offer, shaping students towards a good career and job prospects. It was given 5 star excellence award for teaching and the prestigious 5 star ranking in the QS stars by the QS World University Rankings in 2016/17.
Also, Sterling has been ranked 1st in Scotland and 3rd in the UK for its graduate employment record. The University truly has some state-of-the-art facilities for students in its campuses.
5. Plymouth University – Established in 1992, the Plymouth University is one of the UK’s largest public universities where 89% of its graduates find employment after graduation. The University ranks amongst the top 100 according to the 2017 League Table Ranking. 6. Loughborough University – the Loughborough University has been declared as the Sports University of the year 2017. It has made a remarkable move to 4th place, according to the Guardian University Guide 2017 and has moved to 7th place, according to the Complete University Guide 2017. It is one of the UK’s elite institutions, providing outstanding education opportunities to its students.
7. Aston University – the Aston University is considered to be one of the leading universities in the UK for business. It is home to students from over 130 countries and ranks 2nd in terms of its teaching quality. Aston has witnessed 89% of students' satisfaction, with 82% of successful graduate enrolments.
8. Brunel University London – the Brunel University London is a public university which gained the ‘university London’ status in 2014. Brunel is situated in the heart of London and is close to the Heathrow airport. Brunel has a vision to work towards generating more educational programmes that are tailor made for students.
9. City, University of London – The University is a pioneer committed to shape both academic and professional roles of students. City, University of London is home to nearly 18,000 students at its campuses from over 160 countries. As per the Guardian University Guide 2017, the University ranks 18th among the top 20 UK universities. According to the Complete University Guide 2017, City ranks 1st in terms of students’ satisfaction.
10. Heriot-Watt University – the Heriot-Watt University is a research-intensive university established in 1966. The University is home to over 30,000 students from 190 countries at its five global campuses. It has been ranked #1 by the World University Rakings 2016/17. According to National Student survey, students have shown 90% satisfaction rate for studying at the University.
